Veora was born on April 2nd in Minter City, Mississippi to Julie Mae Macalester & Douglas Kimbrough (who preceded her in death). At an early age. Mama met the love of her life, Roosevelt Collins Sr. (who preceded her in death).  They were later married and through this union, nine children were born.

Boots and Peter migrated to Chicago in 1950.  While living here in Chicago, Grandma worked many jobs until she retired from Petra Co. after twenty-five years of service in 2002.

Sister Collins became a member of Myra Chapter #132 International Free & Accepted Modern Masons & Order of Eastern Stars.  She served faithfully as Worthy Matron, District and Grand Conductress.  Following in Sister Collins footsteps within the order one daughter and two granddaughters.

Nana gave her life to Christ at the age of 67,  in her kicthen.  She confessed and professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  As a result, Aunt Too-Too began attending weekly Bible class at the Salvation Army.  Bu-La, began to grow in the knowledge of the Lord and looked forward to her weekly Bible classes.  While attending Bible class Ms. C met a group of like minded women known as the "Red Hatters".  They had a bond that grew stronger over the years.

Veola loved spending time with her family, cooking for those she loved, and playing Bid-Whist.

Aunt Blow-La has been all over the world and her passport stamped by each place she visited. She would bring back magnets that adorned her refrigerator as testimony of where God allowed her to go.

One son Larry Collins, One Sister Uelisher White & one niece Charlotte White and traveling buddy, Phyllis Jones all preceded her in death.

Ma leaves to cherish her memory: Eight children, two brothers, one nephew, lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
